Diego is engaged in a continuous search for form and texture.
After completing his studies in interior design, his focus gradually shifted toward furniture and sculpture, objects that are not purely functional, but that also evoke a sensory experience.
This pursuit led him to concentrate more intensely on metals, particularly aluminium: a material that continues to challenge him. Industrial, cool, and seemingly flat, yet incredibly malleable and full of hidden possibilities.
In his practice, Diego investigates how rigid, two-dimensional aluminium sheets can be transformed into three-dimensional, almost living structures. By combining traditional craft techniques with his own experimental approaches, he seeks to break down the material’s inherent rigidity. He bends and manipulates aluminium in ways that soften its industrial nature, creating space for unexpected forms, textures, and movements, and granting the material a sense of freedom it does not naturally possess.
